On this day, not only did they spread the word, they created a beautiful artwork in the process. With a high pressure hose and some stencils a dirty wall was transformed through reverse graffiti into an inspiring mural.

Reinventing charity with creativity.

When Ogilvy moved to Woodstock a couple years ago we adopted a charity called Percy Bartley House (PBH), a home for boys that operates out of an old house in the area. While at PBH, the boys are enrolled in school or skills training programmes and are taught life skills before being reunited with their families.

Over the years the home has become run down and has lost its sense of life and colour. We have decided to collaborate with Write on Africa -- a not for profit initiative also based in Woodstock, that mobilizes creativity in Africa for inspiration, social change and urban rejuvenation. Together with Ricky-Lee Gordon (who runs the project) we will be restoring life and colour into the home with wall murals done by well-known local artists, illustrators and creative activists.

Spring is around the corner and the GreenPop crew is very excited for Arbour month. We've been in touch with two pre-schools in Vrygrond and they've requested 15 trees each, so we need your help to get them into the ground, educate the children and make a difference in this community.

Vrygrond is on the outskirts of Muizenburg, about 30kms away from Cape Town. You can click on the map links below to see the exact locations and directions. Join us at either one of the two locations or at both!

There will be members of the press covering our Arbour Day activation and we've also arranged for some caterers to provide sandwiches for all the volunteers. The day will start at 10:30am and we expect to be done just after lunch, but we encourage everyone to stay a while and enjoy themselves.

For the duration of the FIFA World Cup 2010™, adidas Originals invited the city of Cape Town to "celebrate originality" at Three Stories -- a one-month-long event held at the Woodstock Industrial Centre with /A Word of Art, a local art group.

The event included a series of art exhibitions, creative events, live painting sessions, open music nights and live DJ sets. The venue, made up of five main areas, included The Apartment, The Skate Area, /AWOA Art Space, The Kitchen and the aPoP store, in collaboration with trend retailer, astore.

An average of 200 city lingerers rushed in daily, to keep-up with the World Cup matches and to experience Cape Town's buzzing art scene and nightlife. Over 150 artists and 30 musicians were involved in Three Stories, bringing the best of Cape Town to the project.

By the time the whistle blew in the World Cup final match, a total of more than 3000 people had freely experienced Three Stories. As well as creating a space for people to hang out and experience the city's art, music and creativity, the project also aimed to build and create a platform for the creative community in Cape Town.

Three Stories will live on to affect the positive growth of the cultural scene and has set a benchmark for all future cultural events, and adidas Originals was proud to bring the creativity of the people and festivities of the FIFA World Cup 2010™ from the streets, where originality lives, to Three Stories.

Swaziland's Bushfire Festival 2010 took place on 28th-30th May with an astounding 19,000 visitors over the course of the 3 day weekend. With festival numbers almost doubling since 2009, this year's event has also seen massive growth in cross-border visitors, with all accommodation completely sold-out over the period, seeing 2010 become the most successful year since the event's inception. 100% of festival profits were donated to partnering NGO beneficiary Young Heroes, who also benefitted from the massive exposure and awareness drawn to the event and it's social mandate.
